The Broadway Musical Beautiful, based on the life of celebrated jazz artist Carole King, will be drawing to a close, with its very last performance scheduled to be held on October 27, 2019.

Produced by Paul Blake and Mike Bosner, the bio-musical, which has been on the stage since early 2014, has grossed a total of $259 million in its nearly 6 years at the Sondheim Theatre on Broadway.

The show paints a vivid picture of the 10-time Grammy Award-winning 77-year-old singer's life, from being a teenage songwriter to landing herself in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

"The remarkable run we've enjoyed on Broadway, and continue to enjoy from coast to coast and around the globe, is a tribute to the incredible artists involved, from the inimitable Carole King and Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil to Douglas McGarth and Marc Bruni, our entire design team and every single cast member who has lent their talent to our productions," said Blake and Bosner.

Written by Douglas McGrath, directed by Marc Bruni and choreographed by Josh Prince, the musical has earned itself the title of the 27th longest-running musical in Broadway history and may soon be adapted into a film produced by the likes of Blake, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.
