Masters Security FC and Nyasa Big Bullets have welcomed Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions draw held on Sunday.

Masters will start away against Uganda’s Proline FC in the Confederations Cup between August 13 and 19 while Bullets will be at home against Zimbabwe champions FC Platinum between August 9 and 11 in the Champions League.

Masters general secretary Christopher Njeula, whose players boycotted their home TNM Super League match against Mzuni FC at Dedza Stadium on Sunday due to unpaid three-month salaries and game bonuses, said they will overcome their problems in time.

He claimed the issue of players’ dues is the only matter standing on their way and they will sort it out before the end of this week.

“Once we sort out this issue within the week, we will be good to go; we are ready for this competition because we started planning for it last year.

“Our K40 million budget for the CAF assignment is intact and in fact we are finalising the procession of air-tickets for our 23-player squad, which we already registered,” he said.

But Njeula admitted that the issue of players’ dues has a potential to affect the team psychologically but he said everything will be in place in time.

Masters coach Abbas Makawa said the team is technically ready and they will start serious preparations once the players are sorted out.

On the other hand, Bullets chief administration officer Albert Chigoga said they have left no stone unturned on their mission to have a good start.

Bullets were knocked out by Gor Mahia in CAF Champions League preliminary round while Gabon giants AOC Mbérie Sportif, booted out the Bankers in the same stage of Confederations Cup.
