The father of murdered Shanann Watts says his family has been relentlessly harassed by online bullies 'in the most vicious ways possible'.

Frank Rzucek spoke outside the Frederick, Colorado, home where his daughter and two young grandchildren were murdered, to plead with social media sites to stop the attacks on his loved ones.

Pregnant Shanann and her two young daughters, Bella and Celeste were murdered by killer dad Chris Watts in August last year.

Since then Rzucek says he and his family, have been subjected 'to a constant stream of ugly, evil insults and attacks'.

Frank Rzucek said on Monday: 'Our family, including Shanann and her children and our grandchildren, have been ridiculed, demeaned, slandered, mocked in the most vicious ways you can imagine.

'We have been subject to false accusations, fake Facebook accounts, hate speeches and a constant stream of ugly, evil insults and attacks.'

Devastated Rzucek said he could not 'describe how painful the last 11 months have been' but said: 'Every time we turn around there is someone trying to capitalize on our tragedy by spreading false rumors and outright lies about Shanann and our grandchildren.

'Just dealing with this type of tragedy is more than a family should bare.'

Watts accepted a plea deal of life in prison after confessing to the murders. He is now behind bars in a maximum security prison in Wisconsin.

It was just a few hours after he buried the body of his wife and dumped his daughters in oil tanks that Watts' alibi began to fall apart.

But Rzucek claims anonymous trolls spend their time writing in the 'most vicious ways you can imagine' about the tragic deaths. He calls their behavior 'cruel'.

The grieving dad said he spoke out to try and stop it from happening in the future.

He added: 'It is not fair to the victims. We don't deserve it. It doesn't need to be like this. I shouldn't have to be out here doing this. We just try to ignore it. But, sometimes you just can't ignore it.

'She would have defended herself and now I’m here defending her.

'Please, just stop. Get on with your lives, leave ours alone. It is cruel, it is heartless and it's flat wrong.

'We have been subject to threats on our lives all because we are victims of a painful tragedy.

'We are calling on you again to do the right thing, to take some responsibility for your platforms and stop this despicable conduct.

'It is painful enough for just dealing with the reality. Reading the insane conspiracy theories, ugly false rumors and lies only make it more painful.

'We don't deserve it.'

The devastated father, who said as a family they have not been given the 'right to mourn in peace', claim comments come from all over the world.

But he added: '(For those) who have prayed for us and our family, we can't thank you enough. God bless you all.'

Lawyers for Frank and his family are said to have contacted Facebook, Twitter and YouTube but the companies have not responded.

Steven Lambert said: 'We called Facebook. We called YouTube. We called Twitter.

'There's no regulatory arm of YouTube, there's no customer service line for YouTube, no customer service line for Facebook to contact.

'And we have really tried and racked our brain over a year to get something done.'
