Cop booked for sodomising minor in Mathura

A police constable was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly indulging in unnatural sexual with a neighbour’s minor son at his rented accommodation in Mathura’s Govardhan area. He was later suspended by senior superintendent of police (SSP) Shalabh Mathur.

AGRA: A police constable was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly indulging in unnatural sexual with a neighbour’s minor son at his rented accommodation in Mathura’s Govardhan area. He was later suspended by senior superintendent of police (SSP) Shalabh Mathur.
According to police, the incident took place around 4:30 pm. The matter came to light when the seven-year-old boy cried for help.
Subsequently, local residents gathered there and caught the constable red-handed. They also informed the police about the incident.
Accused Kuldeep Singh Jatav, (25) was transferred from Maant police station to Govardhan just three months back. The accused hails from Meerut, the police said.
An FIR has been registered under section 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim’s father at Govardhan police station, said station house officer Lokesh Bhati.
Talking to TOI, SSP Mathur said, “The allegations were found true in the preliminary inquiry,” adding that necessary disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the constable.
