Missing Bihar girl traced to Dindigul after 44 days

CHENNAI: Almost 44 days after 15-year-old girl Sajada Khatun of Bihar went missing from chennai Central, she was rescued from a woman's residence in Dindigul with the help of the local police on Wednesday.
Based on a tip by one of the arrested suspects Nazir Ansari, a team of volunteers from Peace Trust, an NGO, and the Dindigul police team reached Rajitha's house and found the girl in one of the rooms.

The rescued girl was handed over to child help line workers and has been staying at the NGO in Dindigul. The Dindigul police have detained Rajitha, also from Bihar, for inquiry.
The girl left her house on June 11 with her neighbour Manisha Kumari, 18, both residents of Lauria Nandangarh town in West Champaran district, Bihar. Manisha Kumari took the girl to Secunderabad, and handed her over to Prakash Yadav .
Yadav and Khatun left from Secunderabad to Chennai, while Manisha Kumari went alone to Mysuru. When she was intercepted by a ticket examiner for travelling without a ticket, she tried to escape from the moving trainand suffered injuries.She was admitted at a government hospital in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh and confessed about Yadav, who took Khatun to Chennai. Based on the confession of Manisha Kumari, the NGO volunteers and Khatun's relatives came down in search of the missing girl and traced the suspect Prakash Yadav at Peravallur.

Police team from Bihar took Prakash Yadav from Peravallur, who revealed that he had handed over the girl to Nazir Ansari. Police team narrowed down Ansari from a hideout in Chennai who informed them that he handed over the girl to Rajitha.
The girl's father and relatives accompanied by a Bihar police team headed to Dindigul along with Henry of Jesuit Migrant Services (JMS), an NGO based in Chennai.
