LUCKNOW: A woman died while three others were feared drowned after a boat ferrying 21 farmers capsized in in Saryu river in
Bahraich district on Sunday.
Police said that the farmers had gone for paddy sowing on a boat when it overturned and capsized.
Police personnel managed to rescue 17 passengers of the boat.
Police personnel take stock of the rescue operation.Bahraich SP Gaurav Grover told TOI that the first call related to the accident was received around 9 am following which a team of police personnel was sent to the spot for rescue operations.
The team managed to retrieve the body of a woman identified as Nainaki, while three others are feared drown, he said.
"Divers have been deployed at the accident spot to trace the missing people," said Grover.
