MADHEPURA: Unknown miscreants brutally thrashed Singheshwar Ram-Janki temple manager Dilip Chaudhary (45) to death, on the temple premises at Singheshwar Sthan under the same police station in Madhepura district on Sunday noon.
News of this incident spread soon as the famous Shrawani fair is going on at this sacred place of Lord Shiva . People gathered on the road and blocked NH-106.
The blockade continued till late evening. According to the locals, the victim was engaged in ‘bhajan-kirtan’ going on at the temple when the six assailants arrived and dragged him in a room on the temple premises and badly beat him up. The assailants also poured water on him and gave him electric shock till he died, said eye witnesses.
According to the villagers, police was duly informed about the attack but no one came to the manager’s rescue. The victim could have been saved had the police arrived on time. Confirming the incident, Madhepura SP Sanjay Kumar said police have sent the body for postmortem. An FIR will be lodged on the complaint of the family member of the victim, he added.
