Home guards attacked in Sitapur

A group of seven goons attacked and looted rifles from two home guards on patrol in Sitapur on late Sunday night. The incident took place at Laharpur police station area of the district. Police has recovered both the rifles and is combing nearby areas to search for the assailants.

The incident took place at Laharpur police station area of the district. Police has recovered both the rifles and is combing nearby areas to search for the assailants.
Sitapur SP LR Kumar told TOI that two home guards- Ramesh Patel and Ram Mishra, were patrolling near Rampurva turn.
Around 11 pm, a gang of seven men on foot came from behind and thrashed the duo guards with sticks. In the meantime, two of the attackers looted the rifles and fled.
However, Mishra immediately alerted the police control room and a police team was rushed to the spot.
