Guntur: School HM on the run after raping Class 3 student

Vijayawada: A manhunt has been lodged for a 45-year-old Headmaster of a government school who has allegedly raped Class 3 student in Guntur.

The accused is a headmaster of a mandal parishad primary school at Rayapudi village under Thullur mandal of Guntur district is reportedly on the run after the incident came to light on Tuesday, TOI reports.

Angry family members staged a protest in front of the school against the accused.
According to Thullur police, the HM lured the eight-year-old girl by offering chocolates and raped her repeatedly over the past few months.

The sexual assault came to light when the girl complaining of severe stomach pain had to be rushed to a government hospital for examination where the doctors confirmed it was a case a sexual assault.

The family has registered a complaint against the accused HM on the run with the police filing a case under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012.


“We are yet to take him into custody. A case has been registered against him. He has allegedly raped and sexually harassed the girl many times,” Thullur circle inspector T Vijaya Krishna told news source.

According to statistics, Guntur district ranks fourth in the list of places with over a hundred POCSO cases in both Guntur Urban and Rural police jurisdictions.
