AURANGABAD: The
Aurangabad police have registered a rape case against four unidentified suspects from Mumbai for allegedly gang-raping a Jalna-based
HIV positive woman while she was staying with her brother in that city.
The 19-year-old woman, who is in a serious condition due to some ailments, was recently admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors found that she had been raped, police said on Wednesday.
The woman, in her statement to police, said that she was raped by four men when she had gone to attend her female friend's birthday party. She could not identify the suspects as she is seriously ill, said police.
The rape survivor's father lodged a complaint late on Tuesday night, following which the Begumpura police said they registered a "zero FIR" and transferred the case to the Chunabhatti police station in Mumbai.
The survivor's father said he received a call from his son on July 14, informing that she was unwell. He brought her back and admitted her to a hospital here, where he learnt of the rape.
