    'Super 30' becomes tax-free in J&K, gets state GST exempted in Haryana

    NEW DELHI: 'Super 30' is winning hearts in India. After Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar and Gujarat, the government of Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir have also decided to let the people enjoy the movie with tax benefits.
    While the Manohar Lal Khattar government has exempted the state goods and services tax (SGST) with immediate effect, J&K becomes the seventh state to declare Hrithik Roshan-starrer tax-free.

    According to an official statement, in Haryana, the multiplexes or cinema theatres (registered taxpayer) will not charge SGST from the customers for the tickets.

    Anand Kumar, the Patna-based scholar on who the movie is based, took to Twitter to thank the Haryana CM for the GST exemption.


    In another tweet, he had also mentioned that the J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik wanted more students to see the movie, and learn the value of education.


    The film released on July 12 and chronicles the life story of Anand Kumar (played by Roshan), an Indian mathematician's journey from tutoring rich children in a top coaching centre to opening an institute of his own in order to teach underprivileged children.

    Directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Amit Sadh, and Nandish Sandhu in pivotal roles.

    The film, which opened to mixed reviews, has performed remarkably well during its opening weekend and crossed the Rs 130 crore-mark at the domestic box office, as per collections recorded on Wednesday.
