NINETY SIX, S.C. (WSPA) – An Upstate man is a lot richer after winning big on a scratch-off lottery ticket.
The S.C. Education Lottery announced Tuesday that the Greenwood man won the prize money off a $10 Monopoly Jackpot scratcher.
The man won the top prize of $250,000 with an odds of one in 792,000, according to lottery officials.
The lucky winner told lottery officials he took a walk after winning and thought of ways to spend his winnings. “I’m thinking a house or a car,” he told them.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Ninety Six Shell #102 in Ninety Six. That store will receive a $2,500 commission for selling the winning ticket.
