    Katerra to set up $100 million manufacturing plant in Hyderabad

    ​The US-based technology-driven construction firm currently has an off-site manufacturing facility in Krishnagiri.

    Hyderabad: Silicon Valley-headquartered prefabricated buildings manufacturer Katerra has announced setting up its second India off-site manufacturing plant in Hyderabad involving an investment of $100 million (approximately Rs 710 crore) with an annual capacity to make around 10 million square feet of building material.

    Katerra representatives Ash Bhardwaj and Nejeeb Khan said the company has already secured 1.6 million sq ft order from a technology giant and 6 million sq ft orders were under negotiations in Hyderabad, which saw a buoyancy in office space segment.

    The US-based technology-driven construction firm currently has an off-site manufacturing facility in Krishnagiri, TN and a small on-site mobile manufacturing facility at Lucknow, now catering to Dubai-based Lulu group’s mall construction. Some of its current customers include Infosys, Embassy, Bosch, Indira Canteen, KMCH Hospitals, GEMS Schools and Vaishnavi Builders, among others.
