The ‘Josh’ of team Uri: The Surgical Attack, only seems to grow higher with the film winning multiple National Film Awards. Released on January 11, Uri: The Surgical Attack which passed its ‘Josh’ to every Indian, bagged the Award for Best Director (Aditya Dhar), Best Music Direction, Best Sound Design and Best Actor (Vicky Kaushal). The 66th National Awards for 2019 was held in Delhi on August 9.
The debut filmmaker is overwhelmed on winning the prestigious award for his debut film. He says, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. Fifteen years of failures, rejections and hard work has lead to this moment and it just can’t get better than this. Thank you India, thank you Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and all the Jury members of National Award committee for considering me worthy enough for this prestigious award. This is an honour I am going to cherish for the rest of my life”
It has been Aditya’s dream to be conferred with the National Award. The young director thanks his family and friends for their unconditional support over the years. “The way my parents and my brother stood by me through all the struggle is what helped me realise my dream so beautifully,” he adds.
He further shares that he is grateful to Ronnie Screwvala and the entire team of Uri for giving it all and making the film what it is. “This film wouldn’t have been possible without the mad obsession of each one of you to create something extraordinary for our audience,” he adds.
Aditya wants to dedicate this award to Indian soldiers. “I am dedicating this award to the brave soldiers of our country and their families. Thank you for all your sacrifices. You have selflessly dedicated your life to serve us and now it’s our time to dedicate everything we have to serve you. Jai Hindi!” he exclaims.
