Pilibhit: 11-year-old boy’s body found in railway pit

An 11-year-old class VII student, Ayush, was found dead in a deep pit full of water near Railway Colony on Monday morning, not far from his grandparents’ house.

PILIBHIT: An 11-year-old class VII student, Ayush, was found dead in a deep pit full of water near Railway Colony on Monday morning, not far from his grandparents’ house.
The boy had come to his maternal grandparents’ house to spend the weekend. He had gone out of the house at 1 pm on Sunday but did not return. His father, Ram Pal, who lives in the nearby Joshi Colony, filed a missing complaint with Sungarhi police station at 11 pm on Sunday.
According to Ram Pal, his son was studying in a private school in adjacent Barha village.
His maternal grandparents live near Pilibhit junction area of North East Railway.
It is not known how the boy drowned in the pit.
SP Singh, SHO, said the railway authorities had excavated mud in a portion of its property for some departmental construction work. The dug out area was filled with rainwater in which the boy’s body was found, he added.
