100 ft high tricolor installed at Belagavi railway station

The South Western Railway (SWR) has installed a 100 feet high national flag at Belagavi railway station in Karnataka on the eve of the country’s independence day.

MARGAO: The South Western Railway (SWR) has installed a 100 feet high national flag at Belagavi railway station in Karnataka on the eve of the country’s independence day.
Belagavi is among 75 stations selected across Indian Railways for hoisting the tricolor in their premises.
Outlining the rich history and heritage of Belagavi, a press note issued by SWR said the station was visited by Mahatma Gandhi and that Belagavi played a prominent role in the freedom struggle.

The cost of total installation of the flag is Rs 15 lakh, the press note states.
