Train runs over 3 taking selfie near Katihar

KATIHAR: The selfie craze continues to claim lives in the state with three young men getting run over by down Seemanchal Express (Anand Vihar-Radhikapur) around 15km from Katihar junction while they were taking a selfie on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place at 9.15 am on the Katihar-Barauni section near Semapur railway station. The bodies were recovered from the tracks on the railway bridge over Kari-Koshi river.
Four others who had jumped into the river were rescued by teams of NDRF, Katihar police and railway police from the river.
Police sources said seven persons from Ghuski village in Katihar district were loitering on the railway tracks. All the youths, heedless of the running train coming towards them, tried to take a selfie on the railway bridge. The three deceased have been identified as Md Saramjul Haq (22), Md Shahjahan (22) and Md Shabuddin (16 years).
