Kartik Aaryan says he misses celebrating Raksha Bandhan in Gwalior: Bachpan ki yaadein best hoti hai

It is Raksha Bandhan today and Kartik Aaryan, who is currently in Bangkok for a brand shoot, is missing his sister Kanika, who is studying in Bhopal. The actor says while it's been years since they have not met on Raksha Bandhan as Kartik Aryan moved to Mumbai to become an actor, they miss celebrating the festival in Gwalior.

In an interview with DNA, the Luka Chuppi actor opens up about his relationship with his sister and how they celebrate the festival. The actor said that he misses celebrating the festival in his hometown with his family. He said, "I miss it because bachpan ki yaadein best hoti hain. Back then, it was filled with more fun and shaitaani. I wish we could go back in time."

Talking about the kind of gifts he used to give his sister, he said, "Though I used to save money for her gifts, I still tried escaping from buying something she wanted. Instead, I tried to make her like the things I wanted and bought them for myself, making her feel they were actually for her. But now, I’m compensating for all of it."

While this year Kartik is away from his home on Raksha Bandhan, the actor said that last year was memorable as during that time he was shooting for Luka Chuppi in Gwalior. He said, "Last year was really special because, during the festival, I was luckily shooting in Gwalior for Luka Chuppi. I took a break for Raksha Bandhan and we celebrated it together. My cousins had also come home. Mom had made our favourite food. It was just like old times."

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan has just wrapped up Imtiaz Ali's Aaj Kal. He will be seen romancing Sara Ali Khan in the film. They have shot in Delhi, Mumbai, Himachal and Rajasthan.
