The 2019 NFL preseason is officially in full swing now that every team has gotten on the field and played its first game. The opening week was all about quarterbacks, specifically the rookie ones making a huge impact in their professional debuts. Kyler Murray, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, was outstanding in his lone series for the Cardinals, completing 6-of-7 passes for 44 yards and moving the chains three times. Daniel Jones, who the Giants controversially selected at No. 6, alleviated some doubts about his talents after he went a perfect 5-of-5 for 67 yards and a touchdown on his only drive of the game. Redskins rookie Dwayne Haskins wasn’t as sharp as his contemporaries, but the No. 15 pick did show plenty of promise during the six series he participated in. The signal-caller had a final stat line of 8-of-14 passing for 117 yards, but also took two sacks and was intercepted twice. All three of these young QBs are expected to suit up again in Week 2—potentially getting even more playing time—making it a must-watch week as the regular season draws nearer and competition heats up.
The opening week of the 2019 NFL preseason was condensed into three nights and only had a handful of nationally televised contests, but Week 2 will see plenty more games broadcast out to the entire country across the next five days. It all begins on Thursday with a five-game slate highlighted by Murray’s Cardinals clashing with the Raiders on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET. Friday has three more matchups on the schedule, including another national TV outing for Daniel Jones, who will get a chance to build on that perfect passing streak when his Giants take on the Bears at 7:30 p.m. on the NFL Network. Saturday’s slate is one fans won’t want to miss, at it begins early (4 p.m.) with a Colts-Brown showdown on NFL Network. It’s the first game in a nationally televised tripleheader that also includes the Steelers vs. Chiefs at 7 p.m. and wraps up at 10 p.m. with the Rams vs. Cowboys. Everyone can check out on Sunday’s pair of matchups as well, beginning with the Chargers vs. Saints at 4 p.m. on CBS and concluding with the Vikings vs. Seahawks at 8 p.m on FOX. Monday Night Football on ESPN returns for the first time this season when the Broncos host the 49ers at 8 p.m., which will finally wrap up a frenzied five days of NFL preseason excitement.

NFL Preseason Week 2 Tweets & Quotes
Cardinals vs. Raiders
Cardinals rookie sensation Kyler Murray said he was hoping for more playing time in the team’s preseason opener and thinks he should get more than one series against the Raiders (via CBS Sports):
I was definitely itching for more. I thought I was going to get at least two drives, but, I mean, it is what it is. [Head coach Kliff Kingsbury] did say we might get to play a little more next week, so we'll see however long that is, but I understand. We're just getting ready for the regular season.
Bob McManaman confirmed that Kingsbury plans to put Murray on the field more in Week 2, but wouldn’t give an estimate of how many series that would entail:
Kliff Kingsbury said Kyler Murray will play more than one series Thursday vs. Raiders but wouldn’t say how much more.

Kingsbury spoke about what his goals for the Cardinals are in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL preseason (via AZCentral.com):
Similar to last week, continue to really work on our install. Going good on good, and getting that work. But then Tuesday, Wednesday, focus some on their schemes and what they're doing. Not a ton, but enough to go out there and be able to execute at a high level.
Blake Allen Murf tweeted a humorous quote from Kingsbury regarding the drama surrounding Antonio Brown and his recent claim that he might retire rather than play football if he couldn’t wear the same helmet that he has used for his entire career:
Kliff Kingsbury just now on @Bickley_Marotta show:
"Have you ever had a helmet that you would consider leaving the game of football for?"
KK: "I haven't met a *woman* I would consider leaving the game of football for..." #AllTimeQuote

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden claimed he’s excited to have Brown back at camp and is confident that the star wideout will be ready for the team’s regular season opener (via ESPN):
Oh yeah. Yup. We'll work him back in. Obviously, it's great to have him back. We've had a pretty good understanding, in spite of what people think. ... We've had a pretty good understanding of the foot injury. We know where he's been. We know what he's been through. We're thrilled to have him back and, obviously, we think he's a great player and we're anxious to get the men together and get rolling.
Paul Gutierrez quoted Gruden after Carr took a big hit in practice:
"We gotta stay away from this quarterback, man. I'm not going to pound the drum here all day, but damn, you know, stay away from the quarterback. Protect the merchandise, man." - #Raiders coach Jon Gruden, in a staff meeting after @derekcarrqb took a scary-looking hit in camp.

Carr blamed himself for taking too many sacks last year and vows to be better now that he's getting more comfortable with Oakland's offensive system (via USA Today):
I need to do it better. In second year of a system, you can get through progressions faster and I can eliminate some things against certain coverages and I can get out and extend it. Last year, I was trying to do it so perfect. I was like that, that, that, and oh, we had too many sacks. That wasn't on the offensive line, man. I took way too many. It's a really good feeling on offense when you look around and the guys they've brought in, they've really elevated. These aren't young guys that you're hoping, like, ‘Yeah, we'll get it!’ These are proven players that will solidify those spots for us.
