MUZAFFARPUR Police arrested two Maoists, including a self-proclaimed commander of the rebel outfit, from Chaumukh village under the Bochaha police station area in Muzaffarpur district on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
The two Maoists – Indan Paswan and Chandan Paswan – were arrested in a joint operation conducted by SSB and district police. They were handed over to Bochaha police for interrogation on Saturday.
Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar said the two Maoists were wanted in more than 12 Maoist-related incidents.
“They were involved in attack on fuel stations of former BJP MLA Ramsurat Rai and explosion on the rail tracks near Hathaudi on Muzaffarpur Sitamarhi section of the East Central Railway nearly two years ago. The two have revealed names of some of their associates and raids are on to arrest them,” the SP said.
