Murder accused shot in Nalanda

A murder accused was shot dead by three criminals at Lacchu Bigha railway station in Nalanda district on Saturday.

BIHARSHARIF: A murder accused was shot dead by three criminals at Lacchu Bigha railway station in Nalanda district on Saturday.
Police said the incident occurred when the victim, Mohan Yadav, was waiting for a Hilsa-bound train at the railway station. Yadav, a resident of Sudupur under the Nagarnausa police station area, was supposed to appear before a Hilsa court in connection with the 2017 murder case in which he was an accused.
Yadav, who was released on bail recently, succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
The criminals fired several rounds at the station in which another woman, Guddi Devi, sustained bullet injuries. Guddi, a resident of Taraura village under the same police station area, had gone to the railway station to see off her relatives. She was referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital after first aid at Nagarnausa primary health centre.
Nalanda SP Nilesh Kumar said raids were on to arrest the criminals.
Girl’s body found: The body of a 16-year-old-girl was recovered near Salempur village under the Karaiparshurai police station area in the district on Saturday.
The girl had gone missing on August 14. Her father had lodged a complaint with the police the next day. Police have not ruled out the possibility of someone killing the girl after raping her.
