MUMBAI: Three brothers were sentenced to seven years' rigorous imprisonement by the Thane court for practicing black magic under the guise of running an alcohol de-addiction centre in Wada. Kantilal (52), Nandkumar (58), and Umesh Deshmukh (46) were fined Rs 50,000 each.
Prosecution said the brothers ran Om Shiv Arogyadham Daru Mukti Kendra, where they tortured patients from 2010 to 2015.
In 2015, one of the victims, Mahadev Tushe from Ahmednagar district, filed a complaint. The court said the brothers had violated human rights.
