MEERUT: In a sensational double murder, a Saharanpur-based scribe Ashish Dhiman and his younger brother Ashutosh Dhiman (25) were gunned down allegedly by neighbours in Madhavnagar area under Saharanpur's City Kotwali police station jurisdiction on Sunday morning over a dispute on littering garbage and cattle waste.
Deceased Ashish was the sole breadwinner of the family and is survived by his pregnant wife and mother.

The incident caught local cops off guard as senior police officials including DIG Upendra Agarwal and Saharanpur SSP Dinesh Kumar P rushed to the spot to take stock of situation.
According to locals, the two families used to quarrel over disposal of garbage and cow dung but no one saw such an incident coming. According to eyewitnesses, two-three armed men entered the house of the victim and opened indiscriminate fire at the brothers using a country-made gun and fled from the spot.
Police have launched manhunt for the suspected killers Sunny Saini and Gaurav Saini, sons of one Mahipal Saini who runs a dairy business in the neighbourhood.
"Prima facie it looks like the incident was a fallout of dispute over disposal of garbage. Armed men entered the house and shot at the two brothers. They were rushed to a hospital by the local residents but were declared brought dead," Saharanpur SSP Dinesh Kumar P said.
Situation became tensed as scores of locals, outraged and shocked over the sensational double murder of brothers, gathered at the spot and tried attacking house of the accused. Police had to later resort to mild lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.
"We have formed four-five teams to nab the killers. The accused are natives of Shamli and teams have been sent in all direction to trace them," Saharanpur DIG Upendra Agarwal said.
