A report in France claims Celtic have offered midfielder Olivier Ntcham to Bordeaux.

Website 20 Minutes states the Premiership champions have been in contact with the Ligue 1 side over a potential deal for the 23-year-old midfielder.

But they insist Bordeaux rejected the advance because they are looking for a player with more experience.

Ntcham has forced his way back into the Celtic reckoning after risking the wrath of Neil Lennon with his loaded comments about Scottish football.

The former Manchester City academy graduate claimed he was too good for the Premiership and was keen to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Lennon stuck with the central midfielder and Ntcham's return to form earned him a start against Cluj.

Porto offered £14million for the France U21 international last summer but the Hoops kicked their bid into touch.

The likes of Lyon and Marseille have also expressed an interest in a player who admitted a return to his homeland would appeal.

Celtic are on the hunt for new arrivals but it's understood Ntcham could be allowed to move on if the right offer comes in for his services.

Lennon secured a deal for Jonathan Afolabi on Saturday and the Hoops boss is desperate to add quality in defence with both left and right-back areas needing addressed.

Meanwhile, the Irishman has thrown his weight behind summer arrivals Christopher Jullien and Boli Bolingoli after a slow start to life in Glasgow.

The Hoops boss had kind words for the duo after they started in the Betfred Cup win over Dunfermline.

He said: “They did fine after a shaky start. They came on to a good match as it went on.

“That will do them the world of good, in terms of their character, not just their footballing ability.

“They’ve seen it all now, great nights and frustrating ones. It’s part of adapting to life in Glasgow.”
