Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Teaser Launch: Chiranjeevi, Vijay Sethupathi & Co share their experiences on working in this action-packed extravaganza

After much anticipation and hype, the eagerly-awaited teaser of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy got unveiled on Tuesday afternoon. Within seconds of release, the 107-second video clip created quite a storm on all social media platforms with a thunderous response from netizens. Set to release in Hindi and all four regional languages, the Surender Reddy directorial tells the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, the rebellion leader from Rayalaseema who fought valiantly against the British East India Company.
Promising yet another action-packed visual extravaganza from Telugu cinema, the teaser of Sye Raa gives a glimpse of its breath-taking action sequences, astounding sets, captivating visuals, battlefield episodes, thumping background score and the ensemble star cast which features some big names in Indian cinema. The stunt sequences choreographed by Hollywood stuntmen Lee Whittakerand George Powell will literally give goosebumps to the viewer.
While Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan plays the significant role as Narasimha Reddy's guru Gosaayi Venkanna, Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the king of a Tamil group. The rest of the cast includes Tamannaah, Nayanthara, Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu and Ravi Kishan. While Kamal Kannan and Sreekar Prasad have handled the Visual Effects and Editing part, Hindi composer Amit Trivedi had scored the music for the Rs 270 crore budgeted film.
The teaser launch happened in Mumbai a few hours ago and barring Amitabh Bachchan and Nayanthara, the entire cast & crew along with producer Ram Charan have graced the event. Below are some excerpts from the mega teaser launch.


“It is the untold story of an unsung hero in the pre-independence era, so I wanted the film to be a pan-Indian project. The story has been with me for more than a decade, but during that time, I didn't have the necessary budget. Finally, after many years, it is happening and I am very happy.”
Speaking on his transformation, the 63-year-old veteran actor told “The make-up would usually take an hour. Among all the stuff, action sequences were the most difficult part. I already have a bad shoulder and got it operated. Riding the horse was pretty tuff, but I believe in hard work and would eventually cherish it. By 7:00 am in the morning we would start shooting, so I used to get up at 4:00 am, work out for an hour and then start working on the film.”
Sharing his experience with Amitabh Bachchan, Chiru showered praises on the legendary actor by saying “He is my real-life mentor. I feel there is only one megastar in the country and he is Amitabh Bachchan. Working with him was an amazing experience and I am very thankful to him. My director Surender Reddy insisted on roping in AB for the particular role. So I called Amitabh sir and told him about the role. He immediately agreed and told me that since I’ve called, he would certainly do it. I have worked with India's only megastar, I feel fortunate and thankful.”


Reacting on SRK’s comment during the Melbourne Film Festival, Vijay Sethupathi said “I was so happy, I didn’t expect that. I didn’t know whether he knows me or not; suddenly he comments this and I was so shocked.”
On being part of a massive multi-starrer like Sye Raa, “I am so blessed; I never thought I would be able to work with such huge actors”


Speaking about her role of Lakshmi, the 29-year-old sexy siren said “My role in this film is very different. It’s no comparison to the period film, I did before. I am very happy that my name is associated with Sye Raa, as it is certainly a story that everyone should know. I hope everybody loves the film and it is an important story of India's freedom struggle.”
Sharing her experience on working with Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah told “I would like to thank Surender Reddy sir on this occasion. I worked with him before and he always gives me something different to do. From the time I started working in South Indian films, I wanted to work with Chiranjeevi and finally, it seems like my dream has come true. The moment I saw that I am sharing the screen with Chiranjeevi sir, it felt great.”


Sharing his experience of working with the Megastar of Tollywood, Ram Charan said “It is definitely not the same. The man is completely different once he puts his make-up on, he transforms.”
Speaking about his current project RRR, the 34-year-old Konidela scion said “I have just produced this one film, not even acted in it. I am not shying away from acting in films; I was waiting to be a part of good content. My next film is RRR and it will be my comeback.”
