Sarkarwada police have booked two people on the charges of cheating a man of Rs 1.9 lakh on the pretext of helping him purchase a car and earn revenue by giving it out to a company on rent.

NASHIK: Sarkarwada police have booked two people on the charges of cheating a man of Rs 1.9 lakh on the pretext of helping him purchase a car and earn revenue by giving it out to a company on rent.
The suspects have been booked under Section 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention ) of the IPC.
The resident of Dharmaji Colony, Shivaji Nagar in Satpur, stated in his complaint that he came in contact with the suspects at their office in the Pandit Colony area on April 29 this year.
He did not know the names or addresses of the suspects.
The complainant said that the suspects took Rs 1.9 lakh from time to time between April 29 and July 25 on the pretext of helping him purchase a car and give it out on rent to a certain company.
He was assured that a luxury car would be purchased, which in turn would be rented to a company. In return, the complainant was promised a monthly income of Rs 24,000.
However, after taking the money, the complainant was neither shown the car, nor given its documents. Later, when he tried follwoing up the matter with the suspects, they started ignoring his cals and even shut their office.
The complainant waited for more than two weeks to check if the people returned to the office. However, with no signs of their return, he lodged a complaint against them at Sarkarwada police station.
Cases of cheating have increased tremendously in the city. In the past six months, police have registered 122 cheating cases, of which 72 have been detected.
