LUCKNOW: Three persons, including two women, died while two others sustained critical injuries after a house collapsed due to incessant rain in UP's Amethi on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Beena Singh (28), Raju Singh (14) and Saraswati Devi (70), all members of the same family and residents of Brahmani village area under Fursatganj police station.

The injured, Vijendra Singh (48), son of Sarawati Devi and Isha (6), daughter of Beena Singh, are recuperating at the district hospital.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of the deceased.

According to the police, around 1pm, Beena and her mother-in-law-Sarawati Devi, along with her daughter Isha, were having lunch on the ground floor of their under-constructed house when a tree at their house got uprooted and fell over it, causing the walls and roof to collapse -- leading the members to get buried under the debris.
Fursatganj SHO Sandeep Rai told TOI that by the time other villagers informed and fire department and disaster management teams reached, three members had died on the spot. “Two members were pulled out from the debris and admitted to the district hospital,” said Rai.
