POLICE: Tip jar stolen

Brockville Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a theft that occurred at a north-end restaurant on Monday.

A female suspect entered Quesada on Parkedale Avenue at about 6:40 p.m., purchased some food and then allegedly stole a tip jar. Police distributed a photo of the suspect on Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 613-342-0147 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Shoplifting suspect located after fleeing

A 47-year-old man from the Ottawa area faces charges of theft and obstructing police after being arrested in Brockville on Tuesday afternoon.

A suspect had reportedly attempted to leave Real Canadian Superstore with about $1,600 worth of merchandise when he was approached by a loss prevention officer. The suspect fled on foot but Brockville Police located him a short distance away. He was given a court date and released.
