Godfather actor Gianni Russo has revealed how Marilyn Monroe took his virginity when he was aged 15 and she 33 after she summoned him into her bath.

The actor, 75, best known for his role as Carlo Rizzi in the classic film, says Monroe would be behind bars if the incident had taken place today.

But the pair continued to have a close friendship until her death in 1962.

Russo told The Sun: 'She taught me everything I know. I thought I was the luckiest boy alive but if it had happened today, I think she'd be arrested and my parents would have tried to get some cash out of it.

'Was I upset? No. I'd just had sex with America's hottest movie star and sex symbol.'

In his memoir, Hollywood Godfather: My Life In The Mob And Movies, Russo said he met the iconic actress while working in a hair salon.

After a few visits, her adviser invited Russo to Marilyn's hotel room at the Waldorf.

He described how she was alone in the cluttered room, with clothes thrown everywhere and dishes on the sofa.

Then the movie star appeared wearing only a white towel and sipping a glass of champagne.

She immediately dropped the towel and summoned him to join her in the bath.

Russo said: 'My heart was pounding. Like an idiot, I covered my eyes, which made her laugh.'

He says the pair then stayed in bed for the entire weekend before he had to return to work on Monday.

Russo, who later found fame in the 1972 Mafia film aged 29, continued the affair with Marilyn but kept it secret for many years.

He starred as Carlo Rizzi, the abusive husband of Connie Corleone. Al Pacino's Michael has him executed for betraying the family.

Russo only spilled the secret when working with Marlon Brando, one of Marilyn's other lovers, when working on pre-production of The Godfather and reminiscing about the star.

When Russo acknowledged that he had also slept with her, Brando asked him to prove it.

Russo, a father of 11 children to ten different women, then identified a small scar on the top of Marilyn's right thigh which Brando also recalled.

Gianni Russo's memoir features other fascinating details including how he believes Marilyn was murdered.

The 75-year-old says she was killed by none other than Robert Kennedy, who orchestrated her death because he didn't want news of his and John F. Kennedy's involvement with the star to go public.

He also talks about his life growing up in Little Italy in Manhattan, including how he killed for the first time when he was just 11.

He says he stabbed a pedophile hospital worker called Harold who tried to assault him and he had no guilt about the murder.

Russo killed again aged 44 when he intervened after seeing a man abusing a date in a casino.

The man attacked him with a broken champagne glass and slashed his neck so Russo shot him in the chest and killed him.

The death was ruled a justifiable homicide but Russo's problems continued when he discovered the man he killed was a member of a Colombian drug cartel working for Pablo Escobar.

Dead chickens and salamanders were left in his house as a message as well as pictures of his daughter Carmen who they said was being watched.

Russo went to Colombia to make peace but was tortured by Escobar and his men until the drug baron discovered he was a star of The Godfather.

Escobar then said he would let Russo live if he reenacted a scene from the film and his men then drove him back to the airport.

Russo made the headlines last week after he claimed Chris Cuomo's late father would have 'smacked him' over his viral Fredo rant in which the CNN host threatened to beat a heckler who used the term.

He said the anchor, whose father is former New York governor Mario Cuomo 'made a fool of himself' in the cellphone footage which showed him claim the name is 'like the N-word for Italians'.

Fredo Corleone was the dimwitted and disloyal older brother of Michael, the central character in The Godfather.
