The most exciting part of the 2019 NFL preseason is upon us with Week 3 set to start later today. There are six games on the schedule, including a nationally televised, all-Florida matchup in primetime between the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. The rest of the Thursday slate features the Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Redskins, New England Patriots vs. Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders vs. Green Bay Packers, the latter which will be held north of the border in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It’s a loaded schedule, one that fans won’t want to miss as teams are set to employ many of their starters for extended stretches this week.

Most organizations utilize Week 3 of the preseason as a dress rehearsal for the regular season, often keeping first-stringers in for an entire half, or close to it, in order to get them tuned up and ready for when the games start to count. While these are still exhibition contests, fans will see many familiar faces on the field and the quality of play is generally much higher across the board this week than any other leading up to the start of the campaign. That also translates to a more traditional NFL betting experience, as those wagering on the outcome can expect these Week 3 preseason games to resemble a meaningful game—at least for a half—albeit with a limited playbook and scheming. That’s not to say preseason trends shouldn’t be accounted for, as there is a reason some coaches tend to win far more this time of year than others. You can find out which ones excel both straight-up and against the spread in the betting trends section below.

Those looking for some expert predictions to go along with this betting insight can find them, courtesy of Jon Price of SportsInformationTraders.com, at the end of this article. The pro Vegas handicapper has sent along his top picks for the Thursday night schedule for readers to enjoy. Before seeing which teams Price has a lean on this evening, have a peek at the complete schedule, start times, local and national TV channels, live stream sites, updated odds and more for every game during Week 3 of the 2019 NFL preseason.

A case could be made that the younger guy's not ready. I think, a lot of times, and I understand that thought process, but I'm the one dealing with the individual player, and sometimes guys just aren't ready. And the whole sink-or-swim mentality, it's easy for somebody on the outside to say, but for that individual player and the best interest of that individual person, that might not be the case ... If a guy's ready, we put him out there. If he's not, we won't put him out there. And I think that's the right way to approach it.
