STUDENTS turned up at John Hanson not knowing what to expect but there was plenty to celebrate.

Impressively, 84 per cent of students achieved a grade 4 or above in English, while 78 per cent achieved this threshold in maths, and 72 per cent gained a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, a 10 per cent increase compared to last year.

Those who achieved excellent outcomes were Imogen Jokiel, Oskar Ciesielczuk, Kayla Smith, Dalia Barahmeh, Justin Fryatt, Sam Thomson, Max Tushingham, Erin Burnip and Holly Grimison. Between them, they have gained an amazing 82 GCSE grades at 7 or higher, including 41 grade 9s, 22 grade 8s and 19 grade 7s

Russell Stevens, headteacher, said: “I am sure that armed with some amazing results John Hanson students will progress with confidence on to the next step in their educational journey. All of us at John Hanson wish them well.”
