MythBusters

SBS Viceland, 7.30pm

Some might say the achievement of MythBusters, in making 15 seasons of a show about nerds testing the feasibility of urban myths, is a case of triumph against the odds. But then, some might say that any show with this many genuine explosions in it was always bound to be a hit. In any case, it's always enormous fun to see the ingenious and often gratuitously spectacular ways the team comes up with to find the proof in the pudding of various tall tales. Here we see Jamie and Adam attempting to survive on a desert island using only duct tape, which is at the very least a culinary adventure – are they going to eat the tape itself, or use it to trap seagulls to roast? Only time will tell. The burning question, obviously, is: how explosive is duct tape, and just how will they find a way to incorporate machine guns into the scenario?
