TIRUPATI: Even as the war of words between the ruling YSR Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) goes on over shifting the state capital from Amaravati, Bharatiya Janata party's Rajya Sabha MP TG Venkatesh's remarks have stirred up yet another storm.
Speaking to reporters at Kurnool on Sunday, TG Venkatesh stirred up a hornet's nest when he said Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy shared his plans of shifting out the state capital from Amaravati with the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership at the Centre.

Not stopping at that, TG Venkatesh also told media persons that chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was contemplating to establish four capital cities in the state at Vizianagaram, Kakinada, Guntur and Kadapa in a bid to decentralize the development of the state across all regions.
Recalling that YS Jaganmohan Reddy as a leader the opposition had vehemently criticized the then TDP government's decision to establish the state capital at Amaravati, TG Venkatesh pointed out that even the public and the farmers in the capital region were against the TDP's decision which was exactly the reason why even Nara Lokesh lost in 2019 elections.
"Forget about what Botsa Satyanarayana or any other leader is saying because my information from the BJP high command is that the chief minister himself has already conveyed it to them that capital would be moved out of Amaravati and that four capital cities would be established in the days to come. But I cannot reveal the names of the leaders in the high command who shared this information with me," TG Venkatesh reiterated.
The BJP MP went on to add that YS Jaganmohan Reddy's decision was a welcome move which will be hailed by the people of all the different regions of the state as the overall development of the state can now be decentralized.
However, TG Venkatesh also had a word of caution for the chief minister. He said it would be unwise if the state government also stalled the Polavaram project which was considered a lifeline for Andhra Pradesh. "The Polavaram project was conceptualized and mooted by former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and even N Chandrababu Naidu during his days as the chief minister did not stall the project but continued its progress. But if the present government decides to stall the Polavaram project it would be like giving an opportunity to the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu to consolidate and gain strength from where they are at present," he added.
