AGRA: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from her home and gang-raped by two unknown men in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district on early Sunday morning.
The incident took place in Awagadh police jurisdiction between 1am and 3am. According to police, before executing the heinous crime, the duo snatched a blanket from a priest and locked him in a temple which is a stone's throw away from the victim’s home.
Jalesar circle officer Gurmeet Singh told TOI that the matter came to light when the victim narrated the incident to her parents after she reached home.

She was bleeding profusely from her abdomen and was taken to a local community health centre, from where she was referred to Aligarh for medical aid.
"After Janmashtami celebration in the village, the gang first went to a temple and robbed the priest of his blanket and Rs 200. They slapped and threatened him before locking inside the temple. The gang then went to the victim’s house which is just 50 meters away from the temple. The girl was sleeping outside on a cot along with her six-year-old sister, while her father was sleeping at a distance. The mother was inside the house due to fever," the circle officer said.

"The accused gagged the victim and abducted her. We have recovered the blood-soaked blanket from a field close to temple. Though the victim claimed, that she was raped at a tubewell, which is one km away. The victim is in deep trauma and we are waiting for her to first get stabilised before we question her for further details to ascertain the exact sequence of event," said Gurmeet Singh.
Ajit Singh, station house officer of Awagadh said, "Based on victim’s uncle's statement, an FIR under IPC section 376 D (gang rape) and POCSO has been registered. The forensic team have collected samples from the spot, while search launched to nab accused."
