UP: Baby delivered by high school girl dies in Ballia, man held for raping her

VARANASI: A high school girl student delivered a pre-mature baby in an orchard near her school in a village of Gadwar area of Ballia district on August 18. The baby died during the course of treatment on the same day.
On Monday Ballia cops arrested a person, who was made accused in the rape case lodged by the parents of the girl, said additional superintendent of police Ballia Sanjay Yadav.
Reports stated that the teenage girl had felt labour pain while attending her classes in her school on August 18.When she reported stomach pain to her teacher, the latter sent her to orchard adjacent to the school. On reaching orchard she delivered a pre-mature baby. She left the baby in orchard and reached her home.
ASP Ballia Sanjay Yadav said that on getting information the police reached the orchard and rushed the baby to a district hospital. But, he said, the baby died during the course of treatment after which the body was sent for postmortem. He said that following the incident the parents of girl reached Gadwar police station and lodged a complaint alleging that their milkman had raped their daughter seven months ago on finding her alone at residence.
Yadav said that police lodged a rape case against the milkman and sent the girl for medical examination. He said that after proper investigation the Gadwar cops arrested the accused on Monday.
