INDORE: Over 130 government teachers have been transferred to schools, where there were no vacancies to accommodate new staff, in Indore district.
As information about the vacancies was not updated online, some of the teachers were transferred to schools, which don't have any vacancies. The process has become chaotic, too, since officials of the district don't have details related to the transfers.
In Indore district, there are around 1275 teachers at 165 schools.
District Education Officer (DEO) Rajendra Makwana said that total number of transfers was not clear since the process of joining and relieving had been on. "We don't have information about total number of transfers. At present we are trying to figure out a way to adjust over 130 teachers. They will be counselled and given posting, where there is a requirement in the district," Makwana told TOI.
The transfer details were not made available at district level. But it was available for principals at cluster level. The DEO were to collect the information of transfers from the principals. So, they sought the information from the department.
"A state level video conference was conducted in which the DEOs sought information on total transfers. The department has ordered to make the information available to the DEOs and they have been given an option to check it," joint director Manish Verma told TOI.
The process has now been made online and principals of the clusters will have to relieve teachers, who have been transferred, after checking their documents. Once a teacher will be relieved, the option of joining will reflect online and the teacher will have to go to the cluster and get the joining done.
