Five-foot python rescued from Ignou campus

A 5-foot Indian rock python was rescued after it got stuck between the boundary wall at Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) in Maidan Garhi on Monday. The snake was freed by the rescuers from NGO Wildlife SOS and later released back into the wild.

NEW DELHI: A 5-foot Indian rock python was rescued after it got stuck between the boundary wall at Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) in Maidan Garhi on Monday. The snake was freed by the rescuers from NGO Wildlife SOS and later released back into the wild.
"As the python was trapped in a narrow space, the rescuers had to first break off a part of the brick wall to safely extricate the distressed snake.
The python was subsequently released in the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary," an official from the NGO said.
