2 Teens Stabbed Near Morena Area, PD Searching for Suspect

Two teens were stabbed in an altercation near San Diego's Morena neighborhood Tuesday, and police blocked off nearby freeway ramps as they searched for a suspect.

The San Diego Police Department said a fight broke out around 6:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Morena Boulevard. Someone had been stabbed.

Responding officers found an 18-year-old male with stab wounds to his chest, back, arm and abdomen, according to SDPD. Police said that victim's injuries were non-life threatening.

A second victim, who is 19 years old, suffered non-life threatening stab wounds to his stomach. Both victims were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center.

Police say the two teens were tagging graffiti when they were stabbed. NBC 7's Jackie Crea has more.

The suspect in the stabbing was described as a man with a long "beach-style haircut." He was last seen wearing a white shirt and shorts, according to SDPD.

Caltrans said the interchange from northbound I-5 to eastbound I-8, and the westbound I-8 on and off-ramps at Morena Boulevard were closed due to police activity following the stabbing.

The interchange was reopened just after 8 p.m. and the ramps were reopened about an hour later.
