Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling are set to tie the knot this weekend - and there's every indication their reception venue is the beautiful 18th-century Castle Howard in Yorkshire after their lavish York Minster ceremony.

While the venue doesn't carry prices for their wedding packages, the hiring of the Four Winds temple in the grounds is estimated to cost in the region of £10,000 - but of course, the couple has booked out the entire estate.

The castle was built over a hundred years and finally completed in 1811 as the birthplace of the aristocratic Howard family, which featured historic figures like Thomas Howard, the Duke of Norfolk, who was uncle to both Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, who were both beheaded by their husband King Henry VIII.

And as Ellie and Caspar's wedding venue is soaked in history, it's fitting that among the wedding guests will be a number of royalty - including her close friends Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

There's also speculation Prince William and Kate Middleton - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - will be there after Ellie performed at their royal wedding in 2011. She was also on hand to celebrate with Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank at their wedding in October 2019.

Musical royalty is expected to show up to the party too, with Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora also on the guestlist.

However, ex-boyfriend Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are unlikely to be there with their son Archie, despite Harry and Ellie maintaining a close friendship after they split.

Wedding preparation was in full swing at the castle this week, where two enormous marquees were erected halfway between the house and the picturesque Atlas fountain in the grounds.

A notice on the venue's website explains members of the public won't be able to visit on Saturday.

It reads: "The House and Gardens are closed on Saturday 31st August 2019 due to a private event taking place.

"The Stable Courtyard will remain open. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

However, the castle doesn't hold a wedding licence, meaning newlyweds can only stage their reception there.

Instead, Ellie and Caspar have their nuptials in the soaring York Minster, as that was closed to the public and worshippers alike on Saturday at 12.30pm - four hours earlier than normal.

It started at 3pm, according to the Minster's website listings, which states: "Marriage of Elena Goulding and Caspar Jopling."

Guests will then be transported the 15 miles from the cathedral to the castle, where they'll be met with a bedazzling festival-themed reception among the historic nooks and crannies of the venue.

Tents and teepees are being set up in the castle's Rose Garden for revellers to crash out in when they've partied the night away, while portable loos have been brought in for their convenience.

There's even a stage for live music, although it's not yet clear if the bride is planning to perform at her own wedding.

Around 50 members of staff have been hard at work getting the site ready for the weekend, which is sure to be one of the aristocratic weddings of the year.

Its location has been a selling point for art dealer Caspar, whose posh family live at Frickley Hall, near Doncaster.

And its wide, sweeping grounds, which sit in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, will be the backdrop for the couple's gorgeous wedding photos as they get to wander through the magnificent tended gardens, manicured woodlands and down by the many lakes and ponds.

There's even a secret island the newlyweds could row across to for a quiet moment alone.

Guests could get the chance to meander around the lavish stately home, which features extravagant furnishings, priceless furniture and an impressive collection of art displayed on the walls of the state rooms.

Ellie and Caspar's wedding has been long in the planning, after they got engaged in August 2018.

"I think he proposed a bit sooner than he thought he was going to. I think he got a bit over-excited and proposed the week before he was planning," Ellie laughed of her fiance's question when she was on The Jonathan Ross Show.

"We were having maybe a couple of drinks and we were doing a Jigsaw puzzle. He likes them. I think it was quite an easy one. Probably 400 (pieces). Anyway I think he was getting bored of it and then he proposed. It was quite romantic for some reason."

The happy couple then announced their engagement in traditional style, by placing a notice in The Times.

It read: "Mr C.W.F. Jopling and Miss E.J. Goulding. The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands."

Congratulations, Ellie and Caspar!
