BAGAHA/MUZAFFARPUR: Criminals looted Rs 14.25 lakh in cash in three incidents in west Champaran AND Muzaffarpur districts in the last 24 hours and shot at an employee of an automobile company.
Four criminals on two motorcycles looted around Rs 9 lakh in cash from one Munna Sharma, an employee of a finance company, barely half kilometre away from Bagaha SP’s residence at Dumawalia under Pathakauli police outpost in West Champaran district on Friday.

Bagaha SP Rajiv Ranjan, ASP (operation) Dharmendar Kumar Jha and SDPO Sanjiv Kumar rushed to the spot soon after the incident. The criminals are yet to be arrested.
In another incident, six armed criminals barged into the branch office of a micro finance company at Maidapur village under the Bochaha police station area in Muzaffarpur district late on Thursday evening when the employees of the firm were at work. The criminals held the employees hostage and looted Rs 3.95 lakh in cash at gunpoint. They also fired in the air while fleeing the office.
“We were at work when the six criminals entered the office flexing guns. They hit the cashier, Ravi Kumar, with gun butt when he refused to give the keys of the locker,” an employee of the firm said.
Deputy SP (east) Gaurav Kumar Pandey said five of the six criminals were identified with the help of CCTV footages. “The sixth criminal could not be identified as his face was covered under helmet. All the criminals will be arrested soon,” he added.

In the third incident, the criminals shot at and injured an employee of an automobile company at Vishunpur Semera village under the Kanti police station area on Friday and looted Rs 1.3 lakh from him. The incident occurred when the victim, Vishwanath Kumar Mandal, was on way to a bank to deposit the cash.
“As I stepped out of the office-cum-showroom of the company, four criminals on two motorcycles tried to snatch the bag containing money from me. They fired at me when I resisted,” Mandal, who is undergoing treatment at a private nursing home, said.
