The Nashik city police busted flesh trade in the busy College Road area of the city on Saturday afternoon and rescued two women who were pressed into prostitution in guise of a spa.

NASHIK: The Nashik city police busted flesh trade in the busy College Road area of the city on Saturday afternoon and rescued two women who were pressed into prostitution in guise of a spa.
The manager of the massage parlour Nagesh Marianna has been arrested under various sections of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act 1956.
The raid was conducted by the crime branch at a mall in the Hall Mark junction of College Road at around 4.15 pm on Saturday.

The police said that the business of flesh trade was operational on the third floor of the mall at Hall Mark junction. On getting information about the same, the crime branch sent a decoy customer at the spa and after getting confirmation that the spa or massage centre was actually a den of prostitution, the crime branch police raided the place.
The rescued women have been sent to the government women’s hostel at Ashok Stambh. An offence in this regard has been registered with the Gangapur police station.
Over the past few years, the city police has busted many prostitution racket along the College Road and Gangapur Road areas of the city. Most of the prostitution rackets are operational under the guise of spa or massage centres.
The police have also bust flesh trade run under the guise of saree store where the concerned saleswomen were actually pressed into prostitution by the concerned owners for their own benefit. In Saturday’s case the concerned owner of the spa is absconding, said the police.

The police said that they would be keeping a strict vigil on all the spas or massage centres across the city to check if illegal activities were underway there.
The police has also warned of action against owners of the shops, who have rented out their properties for such businesses.
