Uttar Pradesh: Missing girl’s mutilated body found in Hathras
The girl’s body was spotted around 9am on Monday.
AGRA: The mutilated body of a four-year-old girl was found floating in a pond in Hathras’s Sadabad area on Monday morning. The girl had been missing since Saturday and her parents had filed an abduction complaint the same day.
According to police, the girl’s body was spotted around 9am by an elderly woman, who went there to collect fodder. She informed the local residents, who conveyed to the parents of the girl.

Hathras additional superintendent of Police (ASP), Sidhartha Verma, said that the body was found in a highly decomposed state and had been sent for a post mortem. He said the exact cause of the death would be know after the autopsy only. He added that prima facie it appeared that the girl had drowned and the injuries on the body were caused by some aquatic animals.
Talking to TOI, the deceased’s uncle Satyapal, said his niece was last seen by primary school children while she was drinking water from the tap. He said that she used to visit Anganwadi centre, which is just 200 meters away from her house, for eating "dalia". The primary school is also near to the centre, he added. But she did not come back to her house that day and was not even found at the near by places.
"We had searched every possible place where she could go, but failed to locate her and then informed police," said Satyapal, adding that today her body was found in the pond. He said they don’t suspect any foul play but will wait for the autopsy report to know the truth.
