THANE: Passengers on a Kerala-bound superfast train from Mumbai, 12201 Mumbai-Kochuveli
Garib Rath Express, faced a harrowing time with no proper water and food on board as the train was diverted via a longer route after a landslide down south.
Passengers said the train left 4 hours late from LTT Kurla on Monday and reached its destination, Kochuveli, 24 hours late early Thursday.
The railways said they diverted the train via Karnataka, Andhra and Tamil Nadu instead of the regular Konkan route after a landslide in its path near
Kerala shut lines there.
