MUZAFFARPUR: Taking a strong note of the recent scuffle between different groups over playing loud music, Muzaffapur district administration has decided to ban DJ system on any occasion, except during marriage ceremony.
A decision in this regard was taken on Monday during a meeting of members of different peace committees with Muzaffarpur DM Alok Ranjan Ghosh and SSP Manoj Kumar at collectorate.

DM Ghosh said several decisions were taken to maintain harmony among people from different castes and religions. “It has been noticed that playing of DJ system is a major cause of conflict during festivals. It has sometimes disturbed communal harmony. So, we have decided to ban DJ system on such occasions,” he said, adding that playing DJ system on the occasion of marriage ceremony has only been allowed.
“No one will be spared, if found playing DJ system, except during marriage functions. Even a prior permission is needed to take out any procession. The organizers of such processions have to give details, including their names, addresses with phone numbers and the persons to be responsible for organizing the events,” the DM said.
SSP Kumar said notices have been served on 49 DJ operators for violation of pollution rules. “Baruraj police have sought explanations from these DJ operators. They have been asked to submit their replies within a fortnight of receiving the notices,” the SSP added.
