Festivals and food

Hopscotch Music Festival (Downtown Raleigh) - Hopscotch Music Festival returns to downtown Raleigh to celebrate its tenth year this weekend. There will be more than 130 bands over three days in almost every genre imaginable--rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronic, experimental and more
38th Annual Raleigh Greek Festival (Jim Graham Building, NC State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh) - All weekend, enjoy delicious handmade, authentic Greek food, hear live Greek music and see traditional folk dances. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
The 4th Annual Sophomore Slump Fest
The 4th Annual Sophomore Slump Fest (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - This alternative summer music festival is Friday and Saturday.
Taste of Soul NC Seafood Edition (The Pavilion at Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St, Durham) - Enjoy games, a DJ and food from some of the Triangle's best seafood vendors on Sunday afternoon.
Downtown Cary Food & Flea (Fidelity Bank Plaza, 100 W. Chatham Street, Cary) - This artisan market is held the second Sunday of each month from noon to 4 p.m. at the Fidelity Bank Plaza in Cary.
Fall Fest Backyard Party (Cotton House Craft Brewers , 307 Academy St., Cary) - This party celebrates Cotton House's new backyard and includes vendors, food trucks, an outdoor beer shack, mobile axe throwing, music from Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Gabriel Kelley, the Hogslop String Band and more.

Boxers, Brews & BBQ (Carolina Brewing Company, 140 Thomas Mill Rd, Holly Springs) - On Saturday, enjoy cold beer, vendors, hot BBQ and adorable dogs at Carolina Brewing Company.

Hopscotch Party and Pop-Up Market (Isaac Hunter's Tavern, 414 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh) - Take a break from concerts and enjoy 20+ local artists, food, drink and more Saturday afternoon in Raleigh.
Fullsteam's 9th Anniversary Party (Fullsteam Brewery, 726 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - Enjoy the return of two IPAs, several never-before-released barrel-aged beers and live music and food specials all day.
First Friday Raleigh (Downtown Raleigh) - Head downtown the first Friday of every month to celebrate local art and exhibits the area has to offer.
Sip and Celebrate: Vita Vite Midtown's First Anniversary (Vita Vite, 200 Park at North Hills Street, Raleigh) - Stop by Vita Vite on Sunday afternoon to enjoy live music and try a Poptail made with an array of tasty Locopops.
Family Day at CAM (CAM Raleigh, 409 W Martin St, Raleigh) - There will be music, free snacks from Kind Snacks and Howling Cow Ice Cream, a DJ, dancing and more at CAM on Saturday afternoon.
Bull City Fair Trade Ribbon Cutting Party (Bull City Fair Trade, 811 9th St Suite 100, Durham) - On Friday, enjoy food from So Good Pupusas, drinks and a mini chocolate tasting along with brand new Bull City Fair Trade inspired products.
Farmhouse Jams (Wendell Falls, 320 Vintage Point Ln., Wendell) - Groove to the spirit of rock and roll at this soulful summer send-off on Saturday. Wendell Falls' free outdoor concert features local food trucks and music from Megan Doss.
Porch Party for the Planet (The Outpost, 306 E Hargett St, Raleigh) - There will be an open bar, free food and entertainment Friday at The Outpost. This event is sponsored by Environment North Carolina and NC League of Conservation Voters and works to support a cleaner energy economy.
The Carolina Wedding Market (Greenhouse Picker Sisters Marketplace, 9556 Industry Drive, Raleigh) - On Sunday, spend a day outside walking aisles of tents to meet artisans who create locally-themed favors, caterers, photographers and more. This event is open to everyone and every budget with free parking and goodie bags.

Durham's Murals by Bike Tour (Piedmont Restaurant, 401 Foster St Ste B2, Durham) - On Saturday, take a bicycle tour of the historic murals of downtown Durham. The 90-minute tours are designed for anyone who has a bike and is comfortable riding on city streets. Meet at Piedmont.

Climb for a Cure (TreeRunner Raleigh Adventure Park, 12804 Norwood Rd., Raleigh) - Climb for a cure all weekend! Come dressed as your favorite superhero or villain. A percentage of sales will be donated to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.

Little Big Town (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - See the country group at Booth Amphitheatre on Friday.

Goodnights Presents: Tone Bell (Goodnight's Comedy Club, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - Tone Bell will perform Friday and Saturday.
BoDeans (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - The band's accessible adult alternative sound has led to support slots with U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, David Bowie and numerous others. See them on Sunday.
Chris Brown (PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Rd., Raleigh) - Chris Brown brings his Indigoat tour to PNC Arena on Friday with Tory Lanez and Ty Dolla Sign.
The Embers featuring Craig Woolard (Parkside Town Commons, N.C. Hwy. 55, Cary) - Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy some free, live music with The Embers on Saturday. There will be face painting, balloon art and inflatables for kids.
Indigo Girls (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Childhood best friends make up this folk rock music duo from Georgia.
Live Music: The River Otters (Durty Bull Brewing Company, 206 Broadway St Ste 104, Durham) - The psychedelic blues duo will perform Saturday.
