SECUNDERABAD: The preparation process for enrolment of voters saw a slight increase in electorate for Secunderabad Cantonment. Officials of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) wing are currently busy preparing final electoral rolls which are in the final stage.
According to present rolls, 1.52 lakh voters are already enrolled in the eight civilian wards. “After SCB authorities announced electoral schedule for new enrolment of voters, applications flooded in from all eight civilian wards.
Process of verifying credentials of newly enrolled voters are nearing completion. We have deployed separate teams to check voters’ details through door-to-door visits to avoid double entry,” sources in the SCB told TOI.
After this process, it was noticed that over 3,000 voters have enrolled as new voters. With this, the number of voters may go up to 1.55 lakh voters, said sources. The final list of voters’ lists will be announced on September 15. Residents can visit SCB circle offices to check their names and other details. They can also use the SCB’s online portal to check their deatils.
“The EPIC cards which voters have used during general elections and Lok Sabha elections can also be used for the Cantonment Board elections. For newly enrolled voters, they can get these at Mee-Seva centres located in the Cantonment,” said a senior SCB official.
