Government’s push to education sector in Rampur

After launching a crackdown on Rampur MP and senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in connection with Maulana Ali Jauhar University, the state government has released a slew of funds for various development programmes for education sector in the district.

LUCKNOW: After launching a crackdown on Rampur MP and senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in connection with Maulana Ali Jauhar University, the state government has released a slew of funds for various development programmes for education sector in the district.

The proposed projects include construction of a new degree college in Swar Tanda, two 100-bed women hostels in Rajkiya Inter College, a degree college each in Shahabad and Bilaspur, a computer lab in Rajkiya Inter College and construction of upper primary and primary schools in Chamraua, Bilaspur and Shahabad.

The government has released Rs 4.13 crore for Rajkiya Model College, Rs 1.25 crore for women’s hostels, Rs 29 lakh for computer lab and over Rs 3 crore for upper primary and primary schools.
The projects are proposed to be constructed by Jal Nigam’s construction and design services (CNDS). According to the notification issued by the department of minority affairs, a technical audit will be conducted and funds released for the purpose will not be used for any other purpose.
The multi-sectoral development plan is a centrally-sponsored scheme for overall development of a district. Official sources said the usage of funds would be subject to the conditions imposed by the Centre.
The projects are proposed to be completed within six months and no extra funds will be released if there is a cost escalation due to delay. The notification categorically warns that in case of any anomaly, the construction agency and its officers will be held responsible.
