PATNA: Armed robbers allegedly threw one Ritesh Kumar (35) out of a running train after looting the valuables and cash near Jamuawan Halt on Kiul-Gaya section under Jamalpur rail district in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Ritesh died due to excessive bleeding. He was a teacher at government higher secondary school at Sasaram in Rohtas district.

Ritesh's wife Smita Kumari, in an FIR lodged with Nawada GRP, alleged that three robbers snatched cash and gold ornaments and attempted to abduct her two-year-old son around 11.45pm. When her husband resisted their bid, they threw him out of the running train near Jamuawan railway halt, around 40km away from Nawada railway station. The couple had boarded the Rampur Haat passenger train around 10.55pm for Gaya on way to Sasaram. "I immediately informed my close relatives. They alerted Wazirganj SHO, who found Ritesh lying in a pool of blood on the railway track," she said.
The deceased belonged to Siswan in Nawada district. He was rushed to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital at Gaya from where doctors referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). He, however, succumbed to his injuries on way to the PMCH.
Jamalpur SP (rail) Aamir Javed denied the robbery allegation and said the victim fell off the running train.
