DARBHANGA: Three days after a fire broke out in a coach of Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast Express during shunting at Darbhanga station, a spare coach caught fire at the same station on Saturday.
According to a railway official, spare coaches are kept ready at the stations so that they can be attached with the trains in case of requirement. One of the spare coaches was reduced to ashes after it caught fire at Darbhanga station on Saturday, the official added.
Samastipur divisional railway manager Ashok Maheshwari has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar has not ruled out the possibility of unlawful elements setting the coaches on fire at Darbhanga station.
“We are probing the two incidents from different angles. Security has been beefed up at the Darbhanga yard following the incidents. RPF constables will guard the yard round the clock,” the CPRO added.
