LUCKNOW: Another 49 breeding grounds of the Aedes aegypti
mosquito was found in the city on a day three more persons tested positive for
dengue fever, taking the patient count to 46 since July.
ACMO Dr DK Bajpai on Saturday said of the 49, as many as 46 were houses. The other breeding grounds are a stadium and a multi-level parking lot in Chowk, and the Patanala police outpost.
"Of the total 596 places inspected by our teams, larvae of the dengue vector ( Aedes) was found in accumulated water in 49 places," he said.
The houses where mosquito larvae have been found are in Chowk, Rajabazar, Ruchi Khand (Aashiana), Bashiratganj (Aminabad) and Sanjay Gandhi Puram (
Indiranagar).
At the stadium and multi-level parking, stagnant water pools were found hosting the Aedes larvae. Larvicides were sprayed in all these areas on Saturday and a directive was issued to repeat the exercise after 15 days.
The three men who tested positive for dengue fever at KGMU on Saturday are residents of Gosainganj,
Kakori and Rajajipuram. All are said to be out of danger and recovering at home.
